# Layouts

Assistant supports multiple layouts tailored to different workflows. You can choose the layout that best matches how users interact with the assistant.

## Layout Configuration

To configure the layout of the Assistant, set the `layout` property in the configuration object when initializing the Assistant. The available layout options are:

* `floating`: Renders the Assistant as a small floating window in the bottom right corner of the screen.
* `sidebar`: Renders the Assistant as a sliding panel covering 20-30% of the screen.
* `fullscreen`: Renders the Assistant to cover the entire screen.
* `embedded`: Renders the Assistant within a specified container in the existing user interface.

## Floating Layout

The floating layout is designed for occasional interactions with the Assistant. Users primarily process tasks using the user interface, such as browsing the product catalog and asking ad-hoc questions to the Assistant.

Assistant with Floating Layout is rendered as a small window opened by a dedicated action in the browser's bottom right corner. Use cases include e-commerce shops, documentation, or corporate websites.

## Sidebar Layout

Sidebar layout is designed to work alongside the Assistant. Users primarily focus on tasks such as editing articles and occasionally use the Assistant to access source materials, verify facts, etc.

Assistant with the Sidebar Layout is rendered as a sliding panel covering 20-30% of the screen, opened by a dedicated action. Use cases include business applications such as CMS, PIM, and document processors, etc.

## Full-screen Layout

Full-screen layout supports deep work with the Assistant when users focus primarily on conversations, such as research, planning, brainstorming, data analysis, and decision support.

It covers the entire screen and allows navigation between previous conversations. Typical use cases are standalone AI-first applications like ChatGPT.

Full-screen layout can be the main layout or a temporary mode switched from Floating or Sidebar layouts. To enable full-screen mode from other layouts, pass the `allowFullscreen: true` option while initializing the Assistant.

## Embedded Layout

Embedded layout allows you to integrate the Assistant into existing user interfaces. It is suitable for various use cases, such as chat widgets, help sections, or interactive guides within a webpage or application.

This layout enables the Assistant to adapt to the parent container dimensions.
