# User Settings

This guide explains how to manage your personal account settings on the Ibexa Agentic Marketing Platform - your profile information, avatar, and password.

## Accessing User Settings

In the main menu, select your user icon or navigate to **Settings**. The User Settings page opens. The page contains three tabs:

* **My profile** - update your name, email address, and avatar.
* **Password** - change your account password.
* **Preferences** - set your interface language.

## My Profile Tab

### Updating Your Name or Email Address

The **User Information** section displays your current full name and email address.

#### To edit your details:

1. Select **Edit**.
2. The fields become editable. Update one or both of the following:
   * **Full name** - your display name across the platform.
   * **Email** *(required)* - the email address used to log in and receive notifications.
3. Select **Save** to apply the changes, or **Cancel** to revert to the previous values and exit edit mode. **Save** stays disabled until at least one field has actually changed. A confirmation message will appear briefly once the update has been saved.

### Managing Your Avatar

The **Avatar** section shows your current profile picture. If you have not uploaded one, your initials are shown as a placeholder.

#### To upload or change your avatar:

1. Select **Upload avatar** (or **Change avatar** if one is already set).
2. Select an image file from your computer.
   * **Accepted formats:** PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF
   * **Maximum file size:** 2 MB
3. A crop dialog opens with your image in a round crop frame. Drag to reposition it and use the **zoom slider** below the preview to zoom in or out.
4. Select **Save avatar** to upload the cropped image, or **Cancel** to discard it and close the dialog. A confirmation message will appear briefly once the avatar has been updated.

#### To remove your avatar:

1. Select **Remove** (the trash icon next to the upload button).
2. A confirmation dialog opens asking whether you are sure. Select **Remove avatar** to confirm, or **Cancel** to go back.

## Password Tab

### Changing Your Password

1. Go to the **Password** tab.
2. Select **Update Password**. A confirmation message will appear briefly once the password has been changed successfully. All three fields are cleared automatically after a successful update.

### Password Requirements

Your new password must meet **all** of the following criteria:

* At least **15 characters** long
* No more than **64 characters** long
* Contains at least one **uppercase** and one **lowercase** letter
* Contains at least one **number**
* Contains at least one **special character** (e.g. `!`, `@`, `$`, `%`, `&`, `.`, `/`, `?`)
* Rated at least **Strong** by the password strength indicator A **password strength indicator** is displayed below the New Password field as you type, showing the current strength level: **Weak**, **Medium**, **Strong**, or **Very Strong**. Your password must reach at least **Strong** before it can be submitted.

## Preferences Tab

### Changing Your Interface Language

The **Preferences** tab lets you choose the language the platform's interface is displayed in.

1. Go to the **Preferences** tab.
2. Select a language from the **Language** dropdown. Available languages: **English**, **German**, **Spanish**, **French**.
3. The change is saved automatically as soon as you select a language - there is no separate Save button. A confirmation message will appear briefly once the update has been saved.

> **Note:** If you have not yet chosen a language preference, the dropdown initially shows the language matching your browser's settings (falling back to English if not supported).

## Troubleshooting

| Issue                                                          | What to do                                                                                                   |
| -------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| The **Save** button is greyed out in User Information          | No changes have been made. Edit at least one field to enable the button.                                     |
| The avatar upload fails with "image is too large"              | Your image exceeds the 2 MB limit. Reduce the file size or choose a different image.                         |
| The avatar upload fails with an unsupported format error       | Only PNG, JPEG, WebP, and GIF files are accepted. Convert your image to one of these formats and try again.  |
| The **Update Password** button is inactive                     | Ensure all three password fields are filled in and the new password meets all the requirements listed above. |
| Password update fails with an error about the current password | The current password you entered is incorrect. Check it and try again.                                       |
| Password update fails with a "password reused" error           | You cannot reuse a previous password. Choose a new one that you have not used before.                        |
